Wearable 180Hz Binocular Eye Tracking System

The ETVision system from Argus Science provides high update rate and binocular measurement, with the ultimate in ease of use and complete mobility indoors or out.

The intuitive interface allows for single point auto calibration or multiple point calibration. Data is sent to a laptop PC via WiFi or LAN cable, or may be captured locally on a micro SD card. Battery power allows recording time of over 5 hours.

The participant simply puts on the "glasses" frames, which include the two eye cameras, near IR light sources, scene camera and microphone. The frames can be worn over prescription glasses and are connected with a standard HDMI cable to the ETVision Controller. The Controller is a lightweight Linux based unit that may be carried either with a removable belt, in the participant's pocket, or anywhere one might carry a cell phone.

The ETVision system can integrate with numerous commercially available position tracking systems to implement the Argus Science ET3Space function. All ETVision data can be processed with the comprehensive ETAnalysis application provided by Argus Science.

180Hz data includes point-of-gaze with respect to the hi-definition scene camera image, pupil diameter based on an ellipse fit, eye lid position and blink detection, real-time fixation detection, and detection of gaze on scene objects tracked with feature detection or an AI model.

All data can be streamed via Network as well as recorded to a data file. Data recording can also be controlled from an external device via Network Commands.

The ETAnalysis application can be used to derive additional information from recorded data, such as saccade length and velocity analysis, group statistics, and much more.

Feature Highlights

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Object Detection

An AI model can be used to automatically detect and track multiple objects on the scene image, in real-time, and flag periods of gaze on them. Custom AI models can be "trained" to recognize specific objects using an enhanced version of ETAnalysis.

Live Area of Interest (LAOI) tracking

A feature detection algorithm can be used to track the exact outline of objects of interest on the scene imge in real-time, and flag gaze on them. When Gaze is on an LAOI, gaze position can be reported with respect to a coordinate system defined on the object.

ET3Space

The ETVision system can integrate with numerous commercially available position tracking systems to determine line-of-gaze with respect to a 3D, "room" coordinate system and point-of-gaze on stationary surfaces in the environment.

Live Fixations / Blinks

Real-time and recorded data include point of gaze with respect to scene camera image, pupil diameters based on ellipse fit, fixations, upper and lower eyelid position, and blink detection.

ETPhone

An iOS or Android phone app, called ETPhone, can be used to view a live video feed from the ETVision eye and scene cameras, to provide a target for Auto calibration , to control SD card recording, and several other functions.

EEG

An optional controller sync feature provides TTL level sync pulses directly from the controller to external devices such as EEG recording systems, allowing ETVision and EEG (or other external device) data files to be precisely time synchronized.

Stationary Scene Camera

Video from an external camera can be displayed in real-time and synchronously recorded along with eye camera and head mounted scene camera video.

180Hz Eye Video Recording

ETVision can record both eye videos at 180 fps. Using ETVision Playback Mode, the eye videos can be reviewed frame by frame, or used to recalibrate and re-compute gaze.

Live Bar Plots

ETVision can show real-time ("Live") Bar Plots of statistics including Total Time, Number of Fixations and others, for each detected AI Object or LAOI.
